2026-03-04 Jake prep - product strategy minutes

**Status:** Pre-meeting strategy **Vibe:** Keep Phase 1 tight. Useful first, grand later. **Stakeholder:** Jake

Context

{: .section-gray }

Pre-meeting strategy note for the Army project discussion with Jake.

Strategic framing

{: .section-blue }

  • Immediate product scope: automate ATC safety board-pack generation from existing reporting artifacts.

  • Long-term ambition around ASIMS-scale capability remains future-state and is out of Phase 1 scope.

Problem statement

{: .section-orange }

  • Current reporting workflow is manual and fragmented across PDFs, email, and chat.

  • Board packs are inconsistent between periods and analysts.

  • Trend linkage is weak because similar events are not systematically connected.

Phase 1 solution

{: .section-yellow }

  • Read-only ingestion of safety report PDFs and related exports.

  • Automated clustering of similar events with evidence links.

  • Standard board-pack output: 7/30/90 trend windows, top recurring themes, rising issues.

  • Searchable drill-down mapping every report into clusters.

  • Audit trail of inputs and processing.

Non-goals and guardrails

{: .section-red }

  • No policy-breach determination or compliance adjudication.

  • No replacement of ASIMS or human judgement.

  • No forced reporting-process change in pilot stage.

Pilot design

{: .section-purple }

  • Input: 12–24 months historical reports, redacted if required.

  • Duration: 4–6 weeks.

  • Metrics: time-to-pack reduction, repeat-linking quality, user usefulness score.
